A Masterclass on the Clitoris

Sunday July 12

11am CST / 12pm EST / 9am PST · 90 minutes ·

In March 2026, Ju Young Lee lead a team of researchers to map the first complete 3D neuroanatomical map of the clitoris. This masterclass reads her findings as scripture and asks what the clitoris tell us about God.

What We Uncover

  • The clitoris was called the “shameful member” by a 16th century French anatomist, removed from anatomy textbooks in the 17th century, declared immature by Freud in the 20th. We will read the art, the anatomy, and the history of that erasure as theology and ask what kind of God was being constructed in the absence of this organ, and what it did to how we understand our own bodies.

  • We read the 2026 anatomical map as theological text: the tree-like branching of nerve trunks toward the surface, the distributed innervation extending through the clitoral hood and mons pubis, the nerve density several times greater than comparable structures. We ask with precision: what do these new findings of our anatomy describe about its Creator? About what’s holy?

  • We close with a fully clothed, non-sexual, gender inclusive somatic integration that works with the nervous system and the body’s capacity for sensation regardless of anatomy.
